A Letter to Ernesto

Dear Ernesto,

It’s not you, it’s me. It must be me the crazy one right. It’s like this fine line of crazy or brilliance. Some say there is overlap between the two while others see it more black and white. Regardless what’s it matter, you have ruled me crazy and that means our conversation is over (for now).

I write to you in question as to what crazy means to you. Some define crazy as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result while others define it as something that is opposite to their reality or perception of the world.  Regardless, I want to hear from you because I feel my actions may not be crazy and may actually be justified.

If we take the first definition, I am indeed crazy. As my job is to wake up day in and day out pushing toward something that is not here today. The different outcome is that people like you Ernesto will finally realize the reality of the world is aging and if you are not creating the future of aging then you are accepting the harsh realities of the world as is.

If we take the second definition as truth, and trust that your worldview or experience is universal then we end up in utter disappointment when what you believe slips away into the true reality and your fate becomes out of your control.

I question this term crazy because my gut tells me that I am on the edge of the unexplored, the edge of something real and valuable that can change the world. My evidence comes from external sources

That lead me to believe that I am onto something. There is the interest from 6 countries around the world, the support of the Cisco CTO of IoT, the patent that the United States government granted, and the commitment from strategic partners like Comcast. I find it hard to believe that it is me who is crazy, but I can be wrong

So Ernesto, what do you think? Am I crazy?

Your Friend,

Adam
